Cascadia at Highland Creek has added coffee and yoga to its offerings.

Summit Coffee and YogaSix, or Y6, recently opened there. Each occupies 2,000 square feet — for 100% occupancy of the development's retail space.

“They help complete our vision for a modern urban village, with specialty retail just a few steps away, and suit our residents’ desire to patronize locally owned companies,” says Andy Lucas, principal at Beauxwright in Charlotte.

Beauxwright, Charlotte-based White Point Partners and Copper Builders have teamed up on that joint venture in north Charlotte. The property is at Old Ridge and Prosperity Church roads in the Highland Creek neighborhood.

Cascadia at Highland Creek is a build-to-rent townhome community with adjacent retail project. The mixed-used development includes 89 three-story townhomes on 7 acres.

It aims to answer the demand for rentals in an area with little inventory and high price points.

Summit Coffee CEO Brian Helfrich says the Davidson-based brand is always on the lookout for communities where it can build cafes and become part of the neighborhood.

“Our purpose is to create moments of joy for our customers and connect with them on a level beyond what is common among coffee shops and other quick-service restaurants,” he says.

Alireza Rashidi owns and operates YogaSix locations in Cornelius and Highland Creek. That concept offers six types of classes, including hot and powerful to slow and mindful yoga, as well as beginner and sculpt classes.

Matt McLanahan of White Point Partners led the retail leasing efforts for Cascadia. Chapman Chastain with Ascent Real Estate represented Summit Coffee, while Danielle McGrath and Emily Crandall of JLL represented YogaSix in lease negotiations.
